Welcome to FMylife.droid: FML on your Android phone

FML.droid is an Android application to access fmylife.com website. This website publishes stories (FMLs) sent by their users about all the little things that ruins your day.

FML.droid allows you to read and share these FMLs by text, email, on Facebook and now Twitter. You can also log in or sign up to fmylife.com in order to comment and vote for a FML, adding or removing your favourites FMLs and moderate the FML to publish on the site.

With the v1.2 of FMyLife.droid, the jump to page option is clearer, you have also a reload button in a story page to allow you to see your submitted comments or the new comments.

This release also handles the "comments closed" error when you cannot submit a comment.

Quick update for FMyLife.droid v1.1.5.1

Quick update to allow fast scrolling on the page selection dialog, quite useful when you have to scroll more 500 elements in the list.

• An issue with drafts have been fixed, so now all the drafts are visible and accessible, before only the first one was appearing. However, the previous drafts will be deleted to apply the fix.

New release for FMyLife.droid with some bug fixes

• Random mode : Next button displays a new FML

The FMLs in random mode were cached, so when pressing the next button the same FML was dsplayed

• FML detail page: buttons always displayed in landscape mode

For some short FMLs, the buttons were not displayed and you could not scroll to see them.

FMyLife.Droid: Home Menu

This is the page where you can access the different features of the application:

• Read the most recent FMLs
• Read the Top and Flop FMLs for a selected period. The Top FMLs are the ones with most positive votes whereas the Flop gather most negative votes
• Read the FMLs by categories
• Read a randomly chosen FML
• Search some FMLs by keyword
• Submit a FML *
• Moderate some FMLs publish*
• Access to your FMyLife profile: account details, favourite FMLs and drafts, the ones not yet submitted but saved as drafts (feature only available on FML.droid)*
• Options: change the option settings

You can exit the application by pressing the Back button of your phone.

*: the access to those options is restricted to FML members, you need to log in or signup to access this feature

FMyLife.Droid: Top Banner

By clicking on the login/sign up button, you can to connect to your account or register to FMyLife. Except for the home page, a Home button allows you to go directly to the home page.

FMyLife.Droid: Page of FMLs

On this page, you can read FMLs depending on the option selected: the most recent FMLs, tops/flops one, FMLs per category or some search results. You browse to the next or previous page by clicking on Next or Previous.

Clicking on a FML shows you. the FMLs details and comments. A long press shows a contextual menu menu with several options: story details, vote, add/remove a story to favourites (if connected) and refresh the FMLs.

FMyLife.droid: FML Story

On this page, you can access the FML detail and comments.
On the Details tab, you can:

• Vote for a FML, Your life sucks/You deserved it buttons
• Add or remove a FML from your favourites
• Share a FML: by SMS, email or post it on your Facebook ou Twitter account.

On the Comments tab, you can read the comments for this FML and submit a comment by clicking on Submit comment.

In the Random mode, you can read others FMLs by pressing the Next button.

FMyLife.droid: Tops, Categories and Search

Tops

On this page, you select the Top or Flop FMLs you want to read for a given period.
Select the top or flop option. The top FMLs are the ones with the most positive votes (I agree, your life sucks). The flop FMLs are the ones with the most negative votes (You totally deserved it).
Select a period: current day, current week, current month or all times. Press OK to validate your choice.

Categories
On this page, you select the category of FMLs you want to read. Select one of the categories to access the FMLs. The list of categories automatically updates every 3 days or if one of the categories becomes out of date.

The current categories are: Love, Money, Kids, Work, Health, Intimacy, Miscellaneous

Search
On this page you can search for FMLs by entering some keywords.
The search engine looks exactly for the keywords you enter, so if you enter: luck work, the engine looks exactly for the sequence luck work and not the FMLs containing the words luck and work

FMyLife.droid: Submit a FML

By clicling on Submit from the Home page menu, a dialog window appears and allows you to submit your own FML.

To do it, start by selecting a category and then write your FML. Each FML starts by “Today,...”, contains a minimum of 30 characters and a maximum of 300.

Once you have finished writing your FML, you can submit it by pressing OK or save it as a draft by clicking on Draft. You cannot submit more than a FML a day.

Once submitted, your story goes through a two part process. First, the FML you have sent will be put through the auto moderation system, where others users vote for its publication. If your submission gathers enough votes, the moderating team will then decide whether the story is worthy of being on the site.

FMyLife.droid: Moderate

On this page, you can take part to the first step of the moderation process. The application loads a FML and you vote for the publication of this FML.

For each FML to moderate you can either press the Yes button to give a positive vote, No for a negative one or Next to skip the moderation of this FML.

FMyLife.droid: My Profile

This page allows you to see your account details, your favourite FMLs and the drafts to submit.

If you have modified your account details or favourite FMLs from another source, you can refresh them by clicking on the Refresh button.

On the Favourites tab, you can access the detail view of your favourite FMLs by clicking or doing a long press on one of them. A long press also allows you to remove a FML from your favourites.

On the Drafts tab, you can access the FMLs you have not submitted yet. The drafts are only available through FML.droid. A long press on a draft allows you to edit it, submit it, delete it or clear all your drafts.

FMyLife.droid: Options

This page allows you to set the different options of FMyLife.droid:

• Auto-Login: this option automatically connects you to your FMyLife account when the application starts.

• Display comments: this option allows you to display or not FML comments

• Number of comments to display: If comments are allowed, you can set the number of comment you want to display: first 20, first 50 or all of them.

• Clear cache: the application puts some data in the cache to access them quicker. You can clear the cache in order to get the most up-to-date FMLs.
